Publication Day is Just Round the Corner

Ever since I signed the book deal with Choc Lit Publishing. I have been beyond excited. It has taken me a long time to believe a book I have written was going to be published. Yet here we are with publication day just three days away. I grin every time I think of the fact that I am going to be sharing my book with readers on Tuesday. I’m grinning a lot at the moment which makes trying to do normal things and concentrate on my next writing project hard.

But one of the loveliest and funniest things that happened to me this week was the unexpected visit of a young friend. He is six. 

‘I’ve written a book,’ I said. 

‘A real book?’ he said. 

‘Yes,’ said I.

‘What’s it about?’

‘A woman who enters ten competitions a day but discovers you can’t win happiness. It’s a romantic comedy.’

‘That sounds funny,’ he said. ‘Does it have any owls in it? I wrote a project for school about owls.’

‘Sorry,’ I said. ‘No owls. It does have a dog in it.

’‘Will your next book have owls in?’ he asked.
